This course provides information on Point of Sale, Retail Merchandising and Catalog Management, and Channel Management and Corporate Operations in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Retail. It begins with an introduction to Dynamics 365 for Retail.

The primary audience for this course is application consultants and solution architects. This includes professionals responsible for setting up, operating and managing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Enterprise

This course describes the Point of Sale in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Retail. It starts by reviewing the basic fundamentals of the point of sale and navigating around it. It walks through all the configuration, setup, and enrichment that is done in the back office by merchandisers and purchasing people to manage a retail store on an ongoing basis. It begins by looking at the configuration of workflow, then discusses units of measure, the use of product variants, barcodes which are used to identify products and labels which can be generated and printed, as well as category hierarchies and how they are used in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Retail. It then goes on to describe released products and catalogs including topics such as retail products, mass updates, catalogs, up-selling, cross-selling, and product page layouts. The course then discusses assortments, and modes of delivery, before going on to pricing and discounts including pricing calculations, category and product pricing, affiliation pricing, and an explanation of discounts. It also covers the features of vendor catalogs, vendor sales and price margins, vendor sales price points, and vendor product numbers. Replenishment, which is used to streamline the process to send products to your retail stores to restock the shelves based on the assortment in a particular store, as well as product kits are described. Finally, the periodic functions that can be run for retail inventory management are describe and explanations and demonstrations of three key periodic functions: updating the listing status, product availability, and product relationships are provided. This course provides information on Channel Management and Corporate Operations in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Retail and walks through all the configuration required in order to deploy a retail channel. Throughout the course, demonstrations and practices are provided to provide more detail about different topics.

In this module we cover how to position, the value proposition, and pricing and licensing of Dynamics 365 for Retail. We share with you the functional and technical capabilities, a new path forward for customization and ISV solutions, and more.

Module 2: Point of Sale in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Retail

This module describes the Point of Sale in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Retail. It starts by reviewing the basic fundamentals of the point of sale and navigating around it. It then walks through how to actually use the POS as a cashier, a store manager, and a store inventory manager, describing and demonstrating the different activities associated with these roles. Finally, the module reviews the point of sale reports that are available and Power BI capabilities in retail.

This module provides information on Retail Merchandising and Catalog Management in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Retail. Module 4: Channel Management and Corporate Operations in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Retail

This module provides information on Channel Management and Corporate Operations in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Retail and walks through all the configuration required in order to deploy a retail channel. We begin with an introduction to the basic architecture and navigational tools in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Retail and then go on to describe the use of organizations and hierarchies, and the use and purpose of each type of retail channel and demonstrate how to create new channels. The module then goes on to look at advanced configuration of the channels and the core prerequisite parameters including retail parameters, info codes, and store locators. It then presents the setup and configuration of sales tax, the different payment methods, and point of sale, before going into more detail on how to design and create point of sale registers. Worker operations, the global address book, and how to create jobs and positions are also covered as well as retail security roles. The module then looks at managing customer loyalty including loyalty cards, discounts, loyalty rewards, and price groups, as well as how to set up and use retail gift cards before dealing with IT functions and configuration including online transactions, email processes, POS redeployment, and the data distribution process. The module also describes the inquiry forms that you can use to view and drill down into the details of various types of transactions that are posted and wraps up with end of day operations which describe how to create, calculate and post statements.
