SolidWorks Essentials

SolidWorks Essentials is a 4 day classroom based course designed to teach the novice user how to use SolidWorks to build parametric models of parts and assemblies, and how to make drawings of those parts and assemblies. The course is designed around a process or task based approach to training rather than focusing on individual features and functions. The process based training course emphasizes the process and procedures you follow to complete a particular task. By utilizing case studies to illustrate these processes, the student learns the necessary commands, options and menus in the context of completing a design task.

Students attending this course are expected to have the following

  • Mechanical/Industrial design experience
  • Experience with the Windows™ operating system

After the training you will be able to:

  • Create parametric sketches
  • Create parts and build assemblies
  • Create and control different versions of your parts with configurations
  • Automate design modification with equations and excel design tables
  • Create drawings of your designs
